On the morning of January 26, the blue-vested volunteers took up their service positions in No. 3 Terminal of Capital International Airport, marking the formal start of the “Heart-Warming” Activity for New Year’s Day and Spring Festival launched jointly by Beijing Youth League (BYL), Beijing Voluntary Service Guidance Center (BVSGC) and Beijing Capital International Airport Co., Ltd.

Under BYL’s request, this activity is a step taken by the BVSGC with the aid of the volunteer team of the airport, a long-standing organization of volunteers, in response to the increased airport’s needs during the Spring Festival .

To boost volunteers’ enthusiasm and professionalism, the BVCGC and Beijing Capital International Airport Co., Ltd provided orientation training for about 100 volunteers enrolled for this activity. The training, focusing on the features of airport voluntary services during the Spring Festival, covered a general introduction to this initiative, passenger service etiquette, airport business process, risk awareness and emergency response mechanism, etc.

It is known that BVCGC has deployed almost 10,000 volunteers in railway stations, coach bus stations, pivotal bus stations and subway stations to provide first-line voluntary assistance for passengers during Spring Festival. More than 110,000 volunteers have enrolled for the “Heart-Warming” Activity for New Year’s Day and Spring Festival, vowing to provide care to migrant workers, the elderly and the disabled and assist with public security maintenance. Their smiles will brighten passengers’ stay in Beijing during the Spring Festival travel season.
