A number of volunteers, volunteer groups, voluntary projects and communities in Beijing were selected into the best Chinese voluntary service named “four- hundred”

  In the end of 2015, Civilization Office of the Central Communist Party Committee organized activities in order to propagandize and select top 100 volunteers, top 100 volunteer projects, top 100 voluntary organizations and top 100 best voluntary communities. Selecting these 4 “100” can actively cultivate and practice the core values of socialism, to promote volunteer spirit of “Dedication, Fraternity, Mutual-aid and Progress” as well as learn spirit of Lei Feng and to make volunteer work become more systematic. This activity was to guide people to take part in voluntary service and it can become an effective carrier to build up an atmosphere of mutual-aid. Besides, the development of voluntary service and social volunteer service level can be achieved by organizing this activity.

  Beijing actively responded the call of Civilization Office of the Central Communist Party Committee and the poll was conducted by the Beijing Volunteer Service Federation (BVF). There were 56 volunteers, 56 voluntary projects, 57 voluntary service organizations and 26 volunteer communities being declared all over the city. After the assessment, Beijing recommended 10 volunteers, 10 voluntary projects, 10 volunteer associations and 10 volunteer communities to Civilization Office of the Central Communist Party Committee and accepts oversight of the public by publicizing these individuals’ and organizations’ information on the website www.bv2008.com

  Finally, Civilization Office of the Central Communist Party Committee selected 7 volunteers, 5 voluntary projects, 5 voluntary service organizations and 4 volunteer communities in Beijing into the list of four “hundred” of China.
